Cleanings and examinations

Routine dental cleanings are recommended twice a year for most healthy patients. A typical cleaning involves diagnostic and preventive services including removing tartar, stains, plaque and calculus from the teeth, gum disease evaluations, polishing the teeth, and oral cancer exams.

Biannual oral cancer exams

Oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases, but because it has many symptoms associated with other medical conditions, it can be difficult to diagnose. Maintaining good oral hygiene and scheduling regular visits to your dentist are essential to preventing oral cancer. Some of the symptoms of oral cancer are difficulty moving your jaw and swallowing, oral sores, bleeding gums and cheeks, and continuous pain in your mouth. Eating a balanced diet and quitting smoking (or avoiding it altogether) are good prevention techniques.

Pediatric dental care

As a family dentist, we are proud to serve patients of all ages. To help our younger patients feel welcome, we work to create a warm, friendly, and welcoming environment. Our goal is to help kids develop positive associations with the dentist, and set them up for healthy smiles for life.

Crowns

A dental crown may be your best restorative option if you have a tooth in an advanced stage of decay or severe damage. Dental crowns like implants or bridges restore strength, function and aesthetics to your teeth. It can be made from several materials, depending on the area of your mouth being restored. The crown covers the remaining tooth structure and protects it from further damage or decay.

Bridges

A dental bridge can be utilized to replace missing teeth lost due to injury, decay or gum disease. A bridge is attached to adjacent natural teeth. It is permanently attached. Dental bridges restore aesthetics to your smile, but also prevent your remaining teeth from shifting, therefore preventing pain and discomfort.

Fillings

Composite or tooth colored fillings add protection against broken teeth in the future. In addition, it can help you achieve a more natural looking smile. A composite filling also provides your tooth with improved stability, color and strength. When placing your filling, we will carefully match the material to your existing tooth structure. Composite material can also be used to correct gaps, cracks in teeth, and cover up stains.

Dentures and partial dentures

Dentures may be a good option for patients who want to restore a healthy, natural looking smile after losing teeth. Complete dentures are used for individuals missing all of their teeth. Partial dentures are available to those who retain some of their natural teeth. Your dentures will be custom made to fit snugly and comfortable in your mouth. Our goal is to help restore beauty, function, and health to your smile. In addition, it can help restore the ability to speak and eat, and helps prevent facial sagging.

Root Canals

A root canal or endodontic treatment is necessary when a cavity reached the pulp of a tooth and causes an infection. In addition, if you have experienced severe trauma to your tooth, this procedure may be necessary. Routine and regular visits to your dentist can help prevent the need for a root canal. Unfortunately, once the pulp of a tooth has been infected, it cannot heal itself. It must be treated by endodontic therapy. Sensitivity to hot or cold foods, pain and swelling, or bad taste in your mouth may be a sign of an infected pulp. In some cases, patients are unaware of a problem until they are visiting for the routine check-up.

Teeth whitening

Teeth whitening or bleaching provides you with a simple, non-invasive option for enhancing your smile. We will help you determine which teeth whitening treatment best suits your needs and current oral health.

Night Guards

Patients who grind their teeth in their sleep may experience jaw pain and gum irritation, in addition to damaged enamel and worn down teeth. Having a custom night guard made can prevent further damage to your teeth. A night guard is similar to an athletic mouthguard and provides a barrier between your upper and lower teeth while you sleep. Your custom-made night guard can last for up to 10 years.

Sleep apnea devices

If you suffer from obstructive sleep apnea, a custom-made oral appliance may be an effective treatment option for you. Worn like a retainer or mouthguard, an oral appliance helps you maintain an open upper airway and supports your jaw. We will with you to the determine if a custom-fit oral appliance is the right treatment option for your sleep apnea.

Extractions

Removing a permanent tooth, in some cases, can help restore your oral health. We will discuss the various treatment options with you and determine if extracting your tooth is the best option for you. After deciding on an extraction, we will determine the best way to replace the tooth. This helps prevent problems with surrounding teeth.
